SRS F Tank Farm Performance Assessment

The Department of Energy (DOE) is providing the Savannah River Site (SRS) F Tank Farm Performance Assessment (FTF PA) for external review by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

This document provides information to support subsequent DOE, NRC, SCDHEC, and EPA F Area Tank Closure Program actions and decisions, including a waste determination (WD) and closure plans. Currently, DOE is drafting a WD for the F Tank Farm which is expected to be finalized in the spring of 2010.

DOE and NRC have agreed that subsequent discussions and documentation, such as meetings and NRC requests for additional information related to the FTF PA, will be made available to the public.

A briefing to the SRS Citizen's Advisory Board Waste Management Committee and the public explaining the analysis performed and results documented in the FTF PA is planned for September 22, 2008. The FTF PA is provided for information and any concerns or questions should be provided by October 31, 2008 to:
