NOTE TO EDITORS AND NEWS DIRECTORS: AIKEN, S.C. (July 13, 2004)-Congressman J. Gresham Barrett will join senior officials of the U.S. Department of Energy-Headquarters (DOE-HQ) at the Savannah River Site (SRS) on Monday, July 19, 2004, to discuss the Site's accelerated cleanup activities. DOE-HQ officials include: Lee Otis, DOE General Counsel; Jill Sigal, DOE Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs; and Dr. Ines Triay, DOE Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Office of Environmental Management. David Wilson, South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), will also attend. News organizations are invited to attend the briefings and tours July 19, beginning at 10 AM and concluding by 2 PM. Arrangements for those wishing to participate on Monday, July 19 are as follows:
