Doe Announces Availability Of Draft RFP
On Salt Waste Processing Facility
|Aiken, SC; May 24, 2001 -- Today the Department of Energy (DOE)
Savannah River Operations Office (SR) announced in the Commerce Business Daily the
availability of the Draft Request for Proposals (RFP) for the acquisition of services to
design, construct, and commission a facility to process the salt fraction of high-level
radioactive waste currently stored in underground tanks at the Savannah River Site. DOE-SR
is seeking industry and stakeholder comments on the draft RFP.
The Draft Request for Proposals, DE-RP09-01SR22210, Salt Waste Processing Facility, is available at the DOE Public Reading Room at the Gregg-Graniteville Library at the University of South Carolina-Aiken campus in Aiken, South Carolina, or Internet-accessible at www.e-center.doe.gov.
Comments on the Draft Request for Proposals should be mailed to the U.S. Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations Office, Contracts Management Division, P.O. Box A, Aiken, SC 29802 or faxed to (803) 725-8573 and appropriately identified as "Salt Processing Project Draft RFP Comments." All comments should be received within 30 days from issuance of the document. The final Request for Proposals is targeted for July 2001 publication. Following a DOE review of all proposals, the contract is scheduled to be awarded in the October-December 2001 timeframe.
