Aiken, S.C. - The Department of Energy's Savannah River Operations Office issued the draft Savannah River Site (SRS) End State Vision Document for review and comment on Wednesday (March 9, 2005).
The SRS End State Vision Document is a concise guide to current conditions at SRS and the conditions the Department plans to achieve through the Site's Environmental Management (EM) Cleanup Project ("end states"). It is designed to facilitate understanding and dialogue on the goals of the EM cleanup mission at SRS. The document also describes the current and end-state hazards.
A public comment period is currently underway and will end April 25, 2005.
A workshop on the End State Vision Document is scheduled for March 24 at the North Augusta Community Center from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Public comments on the document will also be received at that time.
